Limestone & Other Floor Surface Polishing & Resealing
Limestone and travertine are calcium based stones and are susceptible to acid based liquids – either food/drinks or cleaning products. These will stain the stone. They are usually finished by honing – giving a smooth but dull appearance.
Travertine has holes in the surface, some can be quite deep, and if these are not filled correctly at the time the tiles are laid the fill can be lost and these voids can fill with dirt that has been tracked onto the floor or left by mopping. This dirt cannot be removed by simply cleaning the floor, as the dirt in the holes is usually lower than the surrounding surface, and, over time, the floor becomes very unsightly.
ECO Restoration will grind the floor, remove the dirt from these voids, remove the old grout, fill the holes and seal the floor to protect it, bringing it back to its original luster.
